Select Upcoming Events at the Ridgefield Playhouse
On Saturday, April 7th at 8 PM, singer LaKisha Jones of American Idol fame pays tribute to divas from Diana Ross to Whitney Houston in To Whitney, With Love.
Meanwhile, it’s the movie Grease’s 40th anniversary this year, if you can believe it, and the Playhouse will be screening the John Travolta/Olivia Newton-John classic (complete with illuminating TCM commentary) on Wednesday, April 11th at 7 PM as part of its Fathom Events in HD series.
Tommy James and The Shondells hit the stage on Friday, April 13th at 8 PM for a special “End Polio Now” charity concert presented by the Ridgefield Rotary Club and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. James and his group are, of course, responsible for such enduring hits as “Crimson & Clover,” “I Think We’re Alone Now,” and “Mony, Mony.”
Another musical icon returns to the Playhouse on Thursday April 19th at 8 PM: the one-and-only Paul Anka.
If you’re enjoying Hotel Zero Degrees Danbury hospitality with family in tow, you might consider taking in the Virginia Rep on Tour’s Huck & Tom and the Mighty Mississippi, a musical that brings to life some of the adventures of Mark Twain’s indelible characters. There’ll be 11 AM and 2 PM showings on Saturday, April 21st.
On May 4th at 8 PM, get ready to have your funny bone thoroughly tickled courtesy of the Upright Citizens Brigade, an improvisatory show that’ll feature Saturday Night Life alum Sasheer Zamata.
