Danbury Railway Museum
The past comes alive at the Danbury Railway Museum, which has turned the city’s historic train station and rail yard into a showcase for regional rail heritage. More than 70 vintage locomotives, train cars, and other rail equipment are on display here; the collection includes a venerable turntable built for Danbury’s New Haven Railroad yard in 1917. The Danbury Railway Museum offers guided tours, train rides, and a busy lineup of annual events.
The Art Spot School of Fine Arts
The Art Spot offers a plethora of fine-arts classes for both children and adults from its Danbury studio center: watercolors, oil painting, acrylics, drawing, cartooning, animation, sculpture work, and more. Along with the regular classes, the school offers “Try-It” workshops for those who can’t commit to a full course schedule—a pretty great option for Hotel Zero Degrees Danbury guests!
Danbury Music Centre
Another community treasure is the Danbury Music Centre, which puts on concerts by the Danbury Symphony Orchestra, Danbury Concert Chorus, and other classical performances at its beautiful 19th-century building on Main Street.
