The craft beer boom in America shows no signs of slowing down, and Fairfield County, Connecticut happens to come flush with some fabulous brewers contributing to the sudsy trend.
All three of our Hotel Zero Degrees locations give you great access to these craft breweries, but today at the blog we’re putting the spotlight on Hotel Zero Degrees Stamford and some of the most convenient places to wet your hops-crazy whistle during a stay with us.
Half Full Brewery (43 Homestead Ave)
Swing by the Half Full Brewery tasting room between Thursday and Sunday, and you’ll have up to a dozen fine craft beers on tap at your disposal. Those include some of Half Full’s Core Beers: the Bright Blonde Ale, the Pursuit IPA, the Refresh Pale Ale, the Thrive New England IPA, the Liquid Hoptimism Double IPA, and the Within Reach Peach Wheat. Other offerings include some beers exclusive to the tasting room.
Local food trucks supply the eats for tasting-room hangouts at Half Full Brewery, a great destination for an afternoon or evening of local beer appreciation on a Hotel Zero Degrees Stamford getaway.
Lock City Brewing Co. (54 Research St.)
More awesome homegrown craft beer awaits you at Lock City Brewing Co., whose taproom also opens its doors Thursday through Sunday. With its moniker, the outfit commemorates an old nickname for Stamford stemming from the lock-making Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company’s presence in the city from the late 19th through mid-20th century.
Lock City brews up such liquid fabulousness as the Launch and DDH EEPA New England IPAs, the Calm Like a Bomb milk stout, and the Over the Garden Wall (Tangerine Cream) fruited sour. There’s food to be munched here as well!
The Beer Garden (290 Harbor Dr)
The Beer Garden isn’t a brewery, but still worth a mention given it’s one of the best places in Stamford to enjoy local craft beers and all-around good times. Open Wednesday through Sunday, the Beer Garden offers food trucks and live music in addition to its rotating lineup of brews.
